Celebrating women in construction

In honour of International Women’s Day, we want to acknowledge our wonderful working women.

 

CMT Group believes diversity is important within the workplace.

 

We prove the civil and construction industry isn’t gender exclusive, with our team of lovely ladies feeling right at home. As a business, we believe that every project begins with our people and we’d love to spotlight our amazing staff putting in the hard work.

 

These lovely ladies are just a few of the Mana Wāhine that keep CMT Group in tip-top shape.

Sonia is the first face you see when you step into our office in Blenheim. She loves customer service, is ready to assist with your enquiry, and will always greet you with a smile. With 30 years of experience in customer service and reception, Sonia really knows a thing or two about office Administration. Sonia is married to Rob and has two adult children and in her free time, Sonia loves to get outdoors, go fishing, watch car racing, go to the gym, run, and cycle.

 

Hetty is our head of HR. She’s always tracking down the best talent to join the team. When not working Hetty is usually found wrangling her tween boys. When she’s gets a moment to herself she loves hill walks, beach walks – anything really that gets her outside, but tells us "If I’m stuck inside, I’ve always got two or three books on the go; or I’m catching up on streaming platform series (Netflix/Amazon/ Neon)."

Rochelle holds the role of Finance Manager and is the driving force behind our team. She carries out work such as preparing tender documents, keeping project files and finances up to date, as well as being the executive assistant to the management team. In the rare moments she gets free, Rochelle keeps busy playing Mary Poppins with her five beautiful nieces and nephews, getting in some retail therapy or walking around the beautiful Marlborough region.

 

Mich keeps the team in line as or HSQE Manager. With many years of experience in Health and Safety and a Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Nebosh Certificate AND a Diploma in Business Management she keeps all our sites ship shape. When away from the office, Mich is quite the accomplished runner, with several marathons under her belt. She enjoys keeping active and spending time with her partner.

Lisa is our Contracts Administrator. Lisa started at CMT Group part-time as a Payroll Administrator and now keeps our contracts in order. Her 20-plus years of administrative experience is invaluable to keeping our paperwork in line. When not at work Lisa loves spending time with her family. She loves her time being a Grandmother to her two young granddaughters. Lisa also has a love for American muscle cars and motorbikes, her Harley Davidson can often be spotted at the office.

 

Michelle keeps the company looking classy, cohesive and creative as the Marketing Manager. Holding a Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing and years of strategic marketing experience across a number of industries, Michelle is an important member of our management team. In her spare time, she’s kept busy with her young family and loves to make the most of the beautiful Marlborough region with mountain biking, hill climbs, and of course indulging in a local Sauvignon Blanc or Methode Marlborough.

Zara holds the role of Marketing Assistant. Recently finishing university, graduating with a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Marketing and Management, Zara provides fresh knowledge and a new perspective to our Marketing department. When not at work, Zara can be found going on road trips, working with youth and learning new crafts.

 

Catherine hails from Scotland, now holding the role of HSQE administrator. Catherine felt she needed a career change and ended up in her current role. When not working, Catherine enjoys spending time with her little ones or heading back to the UK when she gets the chance.

 

Joanne is the 2IC down in our Christchurch branch, holding the role of our Christchurch Administrator. Jo has 20-plus years of experience in office work and always brings a bubbly, positive attitude to the position.

 

We’d like to give a huge thankyou this International Women’s Day to all these ladies and more, who are invaluable to keeping CMT Group on track.
