First homes for Waikārapi

Construction continues to progress strongly at the Waikārapi subdivision on Hospital Road, Blenheim, with the first five homes now well underway. The initial three homes have reached an advanced stage, with framing, roofing, and full enclosure complete, and cladding and internal walls currently being installed. The next two homes have had slabs poured, with framing now in progress. Preparations are also underway for concrete porch pours, with boxing installed and ready to proceed once cladding is complete.

Last week marked an exciting milestone, with representatives from New Ground Capital and Hāpai Housing visiting the site to undertake building inspections. The visit provided an opportunity to reflect on the strong momentum across the development. New Ground Capital Development Manager Johnny Quinn commented:

“We’re really pleased with the quality of work being delivered on site and the standard of the homes coming together. It’s exciting to see these first builds nearing completion, and we’re looking forward to showcasing the finished homes as a clear demonstration of the high quality that Hāpai Housing is delivering at Waikārapi.”

The show home will reflect Hāpai Housing’s vision for well-designed, high-quality homes, while showcasing CMT Group’s strong construction capability, and supporting local whānau to access new house-and-land packages within the subdivision.

Looking ahead, the first show home is expected to be completed in time for a community open day in March, welcoming the public to explore the site and tour the initial homes. With 94 homes planned for the wider subdivision, Waikārapi is rapidly taking shape and establishing itself as one of Marlborough’s most anticipated new residential communities.

Waikarapi - together, home.
