Kāinga Ora Brewer Street

The houses feature a mix of weatherboard and brick exteriors with modern landscaping and enclosed yards. Each home features 2 bedrooms, a modern kitchen and bathroom, an open concept living space and more.

The contract was estimated at $4.3 Million and took 14 months to complete. Jeff Valk, the Construction Manager says, “This is our biggest project to date. Everyone in CMT Group played a role.”  This project allowed us to showcase our skills in demolition, underground works, civil, building, carpentry, concrete works, and more. It required the demolition of original housing before work could get started and was the largest government housing project in Blenheim in decades.

We handed over the keys in October 2022 and all the homes have been filled with families in-need.

We've had stellar feedback from the Kāinga Ora team including this glowing testimonial from Project Manager, Andrew Wilson.

"I would like to personally thank you all for your fantastic collaboration, commitment, professionalism & workmanship throughout the delivery of Brewer/Pahuahi street. I know the business & the wider community are very excited about this development & you should all be very proud on delivering fourteen warm, dry, fully universal design, 6 Homestar & safe homes.

The new homes will have a vast improvement & provide security to all who may reside there. There have been lessons learnt during this development which can be implemented into the Richmond/Charles street development & future developments in both Blenheim & Christchurch regions.

A big shout out to both Scott Guthrie & Jeff  Valk for your patience, time, problem solving, classic banter, & your can do approach, very much appreciated.

Please extend my thanks to all of the your subcontractors & to all who have been involved. I look forward to continuing our partnership & delivering additional homes."

Thanks Andrew - here's to building great homes.
