Friday 8th April was a momentous day - all rooves have been installed on the 14 houses in the Kāinga Ora housing development….and all the team came along to celebrate with a BBQ!
Big thanks to Scott Guthrie and his team. As Site Manager for the project Scott told us he's "Really happy to have 14 rooves on at Brewer Street. It’s a major milestone for the project over the last seven months, and all the team at CMT are very happy with the progress so far!" he also mentioned it is a the biggest project he's managed.
Scott's experience has helped calm down any stresses some of the younger builders have encountered along the way, and his ability to work with Terry to manage the stock during COVID-19 delays was outstanding. “We made use of the huge warehouse at CMT Group to ensure the material was on site when we needed it. Most days we had around 25 people on site, with the busiest day there was over 40!”
Kenley Faulkner, the Civil Team Manager mentioned “I’d like to convey my thanks to our team and everyone else who has helped us reach this point, it’s certainly involved overcoming challenges such as high ground water table and tight working conditions as we work around the many other sub trades onsite but nothing has been too difficult to get through, and I know its cliché but together everyone does achieve more! So, thanks a lot team.”
Kāinga Ora - Homes and Communities have trusted our Marlborough based Civil and Building Construction teams to deliver their large new development, where five draughty old damp houses have made way for 14 brand new homes. We are very appreciative to be doing this for the Marlborough community and cannot wait to see the residents enjoying their new homes.
Regarding the detail of these houses there’s a great variety of weatherboard and bricks within this subdivision, with bricklayer Ben Robinson and his team recently completing their work.
