While having qualified team members is a must, we recognize the value apprentices can bring. Our staff turn up to work with a purpose and a mission to complete their studies. We'd recommend instilling an Apprenticeship program to any construction company as a way of sharing knowledge and increasing staff engagement.
Meet two of our Builders, Chris and Peter. Chris has recently completed his training, and Peter, is currently studying.
Chris, pictured here with Construction Manager, Brent McKay, worked through his BCITO Apprenticeship on CMT Group Projects and recently received his Certificate in Carpentry. One of his milestone projects was the build of the Wā Kaukau Kaikōura Aquatic Centre. This prominent project started in September 2020 and was completed in October 2021.
Peter Fish has started is Apprenticeship recently and is all hands on deck in our Christchurch team. Currently he spends a lot of time at the Takapūneke Reserve project in Akaroa. Check out this video where he shares his thoughts on the Apprenticeship.
